After AdjutantReflex updated his avatar image on bungie.net's forum to a file called chrysopteron.gif, he asked the questions:
- Who is the path of light from blackest Earth to brilliant heaven?
- On whose golden wings will we fly from here to there?
Within minutes, he replied to 'sgt sasqatch's answer of Iris:
- Time to sleep. Something that once was malevolent is stirring. [hibernation resumed]
Not shortly after, halo3.com was updated, showing now 5 silhouettes, labelled as servers #1-5 - each locked.
A comic was discovered at halo3.com/comic which was quickly analyzed, and led to the website 206.16.223.65 - a countdown to June 21, 12:00am
Xin quickly discovered a second IP in the same domain range - 206.16.223.63 - the home site for a group called the Society of the Ancients, investigating ancient mysteries. The domain was then discovered by irasel after coming across a myspace blog entry (link) referencing SOTA, with the domains www.societyoftheancients.com and www.sota.com.
