A. Likely not. 42 has [http://www.argn.com/archive/000605history_is_circling_back_upon_us_like_dun_dun_dun_a_halo.php specifically disclaimed involvement]. What we do know is that whoever is running the show has Bungie's blessing. The nature of the game, however, is that we won't know who was running the show until after it is over.

Q. What is Adjutant Reflex?

A. AdjutantReflex (AR) is an entity that has been posting cryptic messages on the bungie.net forums since monday, June 11th.

Q. I saw someone named Adjutant Reflex on _____ website, and he sounds just like the one from bungie.net. Is this real?

A. No. Probably not. The only AR we know for sure is real is the one posting on bungie.net in yellow text. He also posted briefly on Halo.bungie.org, and stated that these were the only two venues he attempted to communicate through. The Digg account, the Xbox Live account, AIM and MSN, and GameFAQs accounts are all hoaxes. Please don't call the phone number (the last four digits were 2000) that were linked to on the AdjutantReflex XboxLive profile. This was a prank and some poor innocent soul was flooded with phone calls and voicemail. He doesn't want to be disturbed any more.

Q. Someone told me 27.com was related.

A. It's not. All the numeric domain name web sites are not part of the game.

Q: Is halo3.com/comic ingame?

A: Yes. This came from a newspaper ad that leaked out a few days before it was supposed to, but it is live and publicly accessible, so its a legit part of the game trail. The trail itself is a bit unorthodox for an ARG, since it dabbles in the meta-game, but all signs point to this being real.

Q: Is http://206.16.223.65/ ingame?

A: Yep.

Q: Are http://206.16.223.63/ and/or Society of the Ancients ingame?

A: Yes. SOTA was found by doing a whois on the .65 IP address and identifying the other IP addresses in that IP range. The entire block of 206.16.223.xxx IP's are owned by Microsoft, so anything here that looks like it might be game-related is probably ingame. And SOTA is clearly game related! Ladies and gentlemen, this game now has a home base.

Q: The mail links on the SOTA website are broken.

A: You are correct. Since the trail that lead us to SOTA started with the halo3.com/comic link, which wasn't supposed to go public until sunday, we may be a couple days ahead of where the PM's expected us to be. That might explain why some of the links don't work. Don't worry, the lunar cycle doesn't end until the 30th so there should be plenty of time for you to register on the mailing list. Guess you shouldn't underestimate the ingenuity of the ARG and Bungie communities.

Q. What *is* ingame?

A. Anything you see in yellow text on the bungie.net forums is real. (a summary can be found here, or mirrorred on the main page) The AdjutantReflex username on the halo.bungie.org forums is real as well, although it is now inactive. Please don't post in that thread. Also, the email many players received is real. The image from the email can be found here.

Q. Is this ILoveBees 2?

A. Perhaps. It is (at least) a viral campaign related to halo 3. This much we know. Beyond that, we do not know if it will be anything like ILB. It would be wise not to have expectations. Even if it is an ARG in the traditional sense, it is unlikely it would follow the same format as ILB.

Q. Is 4orty2wo Entertainment behind this?

A. Definitely not. 42 has specifically disclaimed involvement. What we do know is that whoever is running the show has Bungie's blessing. The nature of the game, however, is that we won't know who was running the show until after it is over.

Q. I think I've figured something new out! Where can I go to share my information?

A. Several places. args.bungie.org is a forum hosted by HBO for discussion about this. ARG fans and ILB players may find themselves more at home on the unfiction boards or in the unfiction halo IRC channel (#halo on irc.chat-solutions.org). There is also a group on bungie.net which is somewhat less chaotic than the raw unfiltered halo 3 board.
