There has always been one thing in the halo universe that has bugged me from the start. If the rings were supposedly activated 100,000 years ago how did humanity survive? For instance the recently released comic shows a human watching forerunners building. If we assume that Halo killed the forerunners then why didn't halo kill the humans? well while I was thinking I began to ponder the myth of noah's ark. Noah was ordered by god to build an ark to save humanity from the "flood". When you apply Halo to this story you get an almost perfect match. The forerunners know they are going to die but they wish to save the people of Earth so, maybe their remote activation point will be kept in good condition? The forerunners have already been considered gods bye humans and the covenantt so the leap is not hard to believe. There is also proof that the forerunners had ways to defend things against Halo, there are still flood in the library. The mythical flood also represents the activation of halo when Noah is kept safe in his "ark" (maybe some sort of spaceship).

Thats a very common theory among many Halo Fans. Some fans even argue that they were the first to come up with that connection, a very annoying thing to deal with. A better version of what your hinting at can be found HereIt also contains theory's that I believe will be proven during this ARG.

This also ties in with the last HALO book that had an Ark like place where spartans were safe from the rings exploding --Sumo Budah 12:29, 28 June 2007 (EST)

Please remember though that the Bible does in fact state the materials, and size of "Noah's ark". So it would be impossible to say that it was used to protect them against the alien flood, or that the Bible was miss-quoted or some such. Also note that the Halo's orriginal activations were somewhere around 100,000 years ago, yet Noah and the flood happened no more than 10,000 years ago, therefore it is impossible for the two events to match. I seem to remember one of the 5 servers stating that our world was beyond the flood, that the battle line hadn't reached us yet, so there may have been no nead for the halos to fire as far as Earth. Also, Earth is near the edge of the galaxy, so it is quite possible that the flood came into our galaxy from the opposite side. --Shadow181 06:22, 11 February 2009 (MST)
